How it works
- Type or paste your text.
- Optionally enter a character limit to see how many are left.
- All values update as you type.
Notes and limitations
- Visible characters are counted: an emoji or an “é” counts as one character, even if it is made of several code points internally.
- “Without spaces” leaves out every kind of whitespace, including tabs and line breaks.
- Bytes are calculated in UTF-8 – relevant for databases and some APIs.
