How it works

Notes and limitations
- Adults typically read non-fiction silently at around 200–260 words per minute; research (e.g. Brysbaert 2019) puts it at about 238 for English. Technical text is read more slowly.
- For talks, 120–150 words per minute is common; pauses and slide changes are not included.
- The result is an estimate, not a measurement.
