How it works
- Choose the direction.
- Enter a timestamp (unit is detected automatically) or a date and time.
- Click “Convert” – local time, UTC, ISO 8601 and the relative time appear.
Notes and limitations
- A Unix timestamp counts the seconds since 1 January 1970, 00:00:00 UTC. Leap seconds are not counted.
- The unit is detected from the number of digits: 10 digits = seconds, 13 = milliseconds, 16 = microseconds. You can also choose it manually.
- Local time uses your device’s time zone, including daylight saving time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the “year 2038 problem”?
Systems that store timestamps as signed 32-bit numbers overflow on 19 January 2038. This tool calculates with larger numbers and is not affected.
