How it works
- Choose a PDF file.
- Enter a password twice and choose the permissions.
- Click “Protect PDF” and download the encrypted file.
Notes and limitations
- Encryption uses AES-256 (PDF 2.0 standard security handler). It is supported by all current PDF viewers.
- Your password is used only in your browser to encrypt the file. It is not stored, logged or transmitted – keep it safe, it cannot be recovered.
- Permissions such as “no printing” are respected by standard viewers but can be bypassed by special software. Only the opening password provides real protection.
Frequently asked questions
What if I forget the password?
The file cannot be opened without it, and we cannot recover it – nothing is stored. Keep your unprotected original or the password in a safe place.
