How it works
- Choose a version and how many.
- Optionally use uppercase, drop hyphens or add braces.
- Click “Generate UUIDs” and copy them or save them as a file.
Notes and limitations
- Version 4 consists of 122 random bits – the chance of a collision is practically zero.
- Version 7 starts with a timestamp and sorts chronologically, which is often better for database indexes. It does, however, reveal when it was created.
- Generated with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator.
