How it works
- Choose “Text” or “Files” and enter your input.
- Tick the algorithms you need and optionally paste the expected checksum.
- Click “Calculate hashes” and compare or copy the results.
Notes and limitations
- SHA algorithms use your browser’s Web Crypto API; MD5 and CRC32 are calculated by this page, files in chunks.
- MD5, SHA-1 and CRC32 are not collision-resistant and only suitable for detecting accidental changes, not for security.
- None of these hashes is suitable for storing passwords – use a dedicated password hash such as Argon2, bcrypt, scrypt or PBKDF2.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and hashed locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted.
